23/11/2008 · My basement isn't really heated anymore with the oil boiler only working to heat domestic hot water so the basement is colder than the coldest rooms at the far end of the house. Even with 2 cold air returns in those rooms, there isn't much cold air falling into the basement so no convective current can pull the warmer air in the living room down the hallway and into those bedrooms.
